We've just returned from another great Pack Family Campout. The weather was very nice. Cool in the evening, warm during the day and of course the big benefit of fall camping NO BUGS! Click on the picture above to see more pictures from the event.
The menu was awesome as usual. Many parents helped cooked some fabuluous meals including a full turkey dinner with all the fixings. A far cry for hot dogs roasted on a dirty stick.
We will now start planning for our "Winter Campout" stay tuned.
Another fun activity with the Pack! Our last summer event and our first meeting of the school year. It was lots of fun. The kids made and flew kites, had tent setup competitions, and shot water-bottle rockets! And of course there was the scout favorite: DODGEBALL!
What a summer we are having! I hope everyone had a good time at Summer Camp and I hope everyone participates in some of our summer events. I know summer is really a busy time for families. With school out, it seems that there is often even more to do than during the school year. I just hope everyone has an enjoyable 2nd half of the summer and I hope to see everyone outside! Keep checking our website for more news and information.
We are always trying to make a better program for our kids. We've added a new Suggestions area if you would like to help out. Please make your own suggestions or vote on other people's suggestions to make our program even better.
What does Memorial Day mean to you? Sales, grilling out, camping, and family vacations? Those things are a great part of Memorial Day but we do need to remember what we are "Memorializing." Those men and women who fought and sacrificed so we can do all the things we do on these long weekends.
Every year our Pack stops and takes a moment to show our Cub Scouts what Memorial Day is all about. This year we went to a nice ceremony at Sunset Ridge Cemetery complete with a memorial balloon release. You can see a few photos in our gallery.
Pictures from our Pinewood Derby have been posted in our Picture Gallery. Thanks to Janice, our Tiger leader, for some additional photos of that fun day. Enjoy!
What a wonderful Banquet! Our first Blue and Gold was so much fun!! There were many really cool cakes and many awards given out. Thank you so much to everyone who helped make this such a great event. Congratulations to everyone who earned an award and good luck to our boys who made the transition to Boy Scouts.
Not too hot, not too cold. The weather could not have been better for our first Hiking Club hike. We set off on a nice 3-mile hike around Sterling Lake in Van Patten Woods.
We got the Pack up early and headed out the good ol’ camp Oh-Da-Ko-Ta for the Gateway Fall Camporee. The weather was better than expected, a little on the cool side but the rain held off and the kids had enough energy to keep them warm.
The opening ceremony was nice, but we were waiting for the BOOM; too bad that the people lined up to provide the mornings “black powder” demo never showed up. That aside, we went off in search of adventure.
